Its probably fair to say that anyone who has an interest in Angling at some time or another has heard the name Hardy.

All over the globe, there are people who love to fish and in the universal language of the sport, one name reigns supreme - that of Hardy. For well over a century, House of Hardy has been renowned as the manufacturer of the finest game fishing tackle in the world - the name is synonymous with quality and excellence. House of Hardy - Lightweight Sheffield Bottom Rod 11ft

InTheNetUK Photo InTheNetUK Photo InTheNetUK Photo InTheNetUK Photo

Hardy Cane Rod - The Lightweight Sheffield Style - very nice old Hardy float fishing rod, green whips, whole cane butt and middle, with split cane top. Ferrules tight, with both stoppers. Rod straight. Varnish finish bright and even, may have had a coat of varnish during its life, or this may be the original finish - it is difficult to say. Rod does look very attractive, and I don't think its had much use. The usual Hardy ink lettering above the corks says, The Lightweight Sheffield Style. The handle fittings are very well bronzed. The corks in excellent condition, seem unworn. There is a matching screw in the end of the butt, to blank off the screw threads. The no. on the butt cap is G 24738. Has a well-worn 3-section Hardy bag which may well be the original. Overall length is a fraction over 11 feet.
